The Soil
The Soil is a 10 part documentary mini-series focusing on the contributions of historic African American residents of Freeport , Illinois. This series was developed with the intention of being integrated into FSD #145 local curriculum for students K-12.
Made in partnership with Freeport School District 145 & Stephenson County Historical Society.
Tyger
Tyger, a 15 minute profile piece on the 78 year old cyclocross and recumbent cyclist Leroy “The Tyger” Johnson. The film follows Tyger as he reminisces on his life and his former victories, all while he trains for upcoming races and marathons. Themes on ageism, American history, and the force behind what drives people to get into cycling and running.
Rawleigh
Rawleigh is a documentary photo series focused on the abandoned W.T. Rawleigh factory in Freeport, Illinois. This building was once home to the most prosperous company Northwest Illinois had. In the late 70’s, everything changed as the company began to relocate operations. By the 80’s this site was fully abandoned, left to crumble in the heart of downtown Freeport.
